My First Story Time At The Library

Posting late 3rd september 2010
Actually this should have been my first post as we had first gone to the library to start our September activities. The library has a story time every Friday from 11 to 11:30 for toddlers. This was our first week after I learned my driving. He enjoyed the story time but dint interact much with the kids at the library( I understand its his first time that he has been out in a group where he does not know any one ).
They read 2 books and sang a few songs that we sing at home but he dint do any of it there ( hope he does them next time ) here are the
Five Little Monkeys
Actions:
Five little monkeys -- with one hand hold up the number of fingers to match the verse.
jumping on the bed -- bounce your fingers (monkeys) up and down on your other hand (the bed)
One fell off -- hold up one finger
and bumped his head -- hold head with both hands and rock head back and forth
Mama called the Doctor and the doctor said -- dial the phone with one finger
No more monkeys jumping on the bed -- shake index finger ("no no")

Words:

Five little monkeys jumping on the bed,
One fell off and bumped his head.
Mama called the Doctor and the Doctor said,
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

Four little monkeys jumping on the bed,
One fell off and bumped her head.
Papa called the Doctor and the Doctor said,
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

Three little monkeys jumping on the bed,
One fell off and bumped his head.
Mama called the Doctor and the Doctor said,
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

Two little monkeys jumping on the bed,
One fell off and bumped her head.
Papa called the Doctor and the Doctor said,
"No more monkeys jumping on the bed!"

One little monkey jumping on the bed,
He fell off and bumped his head.
Mama called the Doctor and the Doctor said,
"Put those monkeys straight to bed!"

And

Row, row, row your boat,
Gently down the stream.
Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily,
Life is but a dream.

Then was our favorite coloring time .. They gave some coloring pages that we could color he enjoyed doing that and showing it off to all the kids and their parents

coloring activity september 3rd 2010
 .

Giraffe coloring pages.

This is the first activity that we started with for the season September .
We went for fossil rim safari this labor day long weekend and my son had lot of fun feeding the animals and interacting with them as it was his first time with any of these stuff as we have not gone to the zoo yet.  So he all into with Giraffe’s and zebra and ostrich now as they were the only one he recognized there. The place was gr8 and was lot of fun for the kid and us adults too to see them enjoy the thing so I thought this was the best activity for the day with him and had needed a lil less of my attention to it.
I needed
Printer
Paper to print the giraffe
Crayons to color
I took the print of the Giraffe from this website
and found another giraffe on the net that was colored and had displayed it on the computer monitor for him and asked him to see it an color as it is in the picture and I guess he did a pretty good job at this age.

Though he tried to experiment with a different color in the middle but its fine with me as he tried to do exactly in the pic following small strokes and inside the black line awesome job son its gr8 to see u do this.

My Toddler activites....

Keeping my toddler busy is the biggest thing I'm facing now a days. He is turning 3 next month and so he is not eligible for the public school yet so home is the best place I guess to keep him engaged and teach him stuff under my supervision. I have started with simple activities like coloring since he was very small and now it’s really getting difficult to keep him engaged when I cook or I am on phone. This brings me to the blogging world that I keep track of the activities we have done and know how he is improving by the day and I am blogging under his name so he has access to it when he grows up and can see what he has done and may be use it for his toddler ( too optimistic though) but surely will help to track it for him. Hope you will love it son when u growup.
